Artisan Village of Coolidge - Lapidary Shop and Lapidary Classes

A small lapidary shop is up and running at the Artisan Village. It will be open on Saturdays from 10 AM to 2 PM. A three Saturday introductory lapidary instruction is available for $50 (the Saturdays do not have to be consecutive) or come for one Saturday to get started. For those with experience the shop will be available for $10 per hour.

Museum and Gem and Mineral Club Events

Wednesday, January 18 - Australia Night at the Museum. Our Museum has an outstanding collection of Australian minerals from the John Weber collection; come and see these specimens. From 5 to 7:30 PM we will have light buffet and refreshments with a taste of Australian wine, while you look at the Australian collection and talk to Dehne McLaughlin from Tasmania, Australia who supplied most of these specimens. There will also be a sale of Australian minerals. The meeting will start at 7:30 and Dehne will be our speaker. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge.

Saturday March 11 – Touch Outer Space and Pinal gem and Mineral Show. We are having a return of our event from last year cosponsored by the Mineralogical Society of Arizona (see the attached flyer).



Touch Outer Space and Pinal Gem and Mineral Show Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 10 AM to 4 PM

Where: The Pinal Geology and Mineral Museum is located in the Artisan Village of Coolidge at 351 N. Arizona Boulevard in Coolidge, Arizona

You will be able to touch samples from Mars, the Moon, and the asteroid Vesta from 10AM to 1PM. Dr. Carleton Moore is bringing specimens to the Museum. There will be dealers set up selling minerals, fossils, and lapidary material (10AM to 4PM). Admission to the Event and Museum is free. There are exhibits of rocks, minerals, and fossils. Special exhibits include fluorescent minerals, Arizona minerals, and Arizona geology. There is a kid’s treasure hunt and a fossil dig where every kid can find and take home a small fossil collection. There will also be other kid’s activities so come and spend the day.
